Management Founders

The Visvodaya society was founded in 1952 not only to upgrade the existing intermediate college but also to expand educational and social service activities. The society adopted the motto ‘Tamasoma Jyothirgamaya’ and fixed its goals as academic excellence, Social Justice, Cultural richness, democratic thinking, humanism and the development of human personality. Kavali College was rechristened as Jawahar Bharati in 1965 with Dr. Zakir Hussain, the then Vice president of India as the Chief Guest. It was a sort of tribute paid to Pundit Nehru by Visvodaya.

Dodla Venkatarama Reddy

A Scholar and writer in his own right. He had a noble heart to bless the educational enterprise undertaken by the younger generation.
M.Ramanujana Rao Naidu

Head of the Department of Telugu, Pachayappa’s College, Madras. First Principal of Kavali College and later became the Registrar of the newly formed Sri Venkateswara University. After his retirement he served as Rector of Visvodaya.
A. McG.C. Tampoe

M.A.(Cantab) and I.C.S. (Retd.). He gave meaning and content to the ideals Visvodaya stood for, served as Principal of this College
Dilipkumar Roy

A writer, philosopher and musician. He was a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi who had special affection for him.
Deviprasad Roy Chowdary

Former Principal – Madras School of Fine Arts. An internationally reputed sculptor. Triumph of Labour, Gandhi, Martyrs Memorial, and The Head of an Unknown Person are some of his master pieces. He was a great painter also.

An honest and efficient Officer of the Revenue Department. A lay member in Ramakrishna mission,Madras.Translated into Telugu most of the works of Rama Krishna. He gave to this society the name Visvodaya.
